OnePlus recently launched its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 11, which delivers top-notch performance in a light and slim form factor, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor designed by Qualcomm.
With its latest flagship, Qualcomm pushed the envelope of gaming performance and multiple OEMs recently adopted the computing platform for their high-end smartphones. One way to increase the sustained graphics performance of an SoC is to have the best cooling technology.
Since the OnePlus 10T, the Chinese phone maker is aiming at offering gamers the best performance in an affordable and premium package.
Today, OnePlus unveiled Active CryoFlux, a new active cooling technology, housed inside a re-designed version of the OnePlus 11, which is shown as a prototype at MWC.
According to the company “in laboratory tests, Active CryoFlux has been shown to bring down a phone’s temperature during gaming by up to 2.1°C, improving a game’s frame rate by 3-4 degrees, or by 1.6°C during charging, shaving 30-45s from the charging time”.
During the presentation, OnePlus told us that they created Active CryoFlux by miniaturizing the cooling system of gaming PCs to make it fit within a smartphone. Active CryoFlux’s main component is a micropump made of industrial-grade piezoelectric ceramic and connected to pipelines located between an upper and lower diaphragm. The micropump measures less than 0.2 cm2, enabling cooling liquid to circulate around the pipelines without significantly increasing OnePlus 11 Concept’s weight and thickness.
We hope we will be able to run a few sustained graphics performance benchmarks to verify OnePlus claims regarding Active CryoFlux.
